We started this company because we saw what families go through, the worry, guilt, and exhaustion of doing it alone.
We’re here to help, and we do it the way we’d want someone to help our own parents.
Our History
Our House Home Care was founded in 2007 to address a gap in home care services in Eastern North Carolina. Too many families faced a choice between large, impersonal agencies with rotating staff and informal arrangements that lacked reliability and accountability.
We built Our House on a different model: consistent caregiver assignments, transparent communication with families, and a commitment to treating each client as an individual rather than a case number.
Over 20 years, we’ve served hundreds of families across Craven, Pamlico, and Wayne County. Our approach hasn’t changed: match families with caregivers who fit, keep those assignments stable, and stay in communication so families always know how their loved one is doing.
Our Impact
What We Believe
Same Face Every Time
Your parent shouldn't have to explain their routine to a stranger every visit. We match carefully and keep that match stable.
Dignity Comes First
Getting help doesn't mean losing independence. Our caregivers support without taking over.
Service Flexibility
No minimum commitments. Care adjusts as needs change, and families remain in control of service scope.
Local Ownership
Locally owned and operated, with direct accountability to the community we serve. Decisions are made here, not at a distant office.

Our Caregiving Team
The People Who Show Up
Our caregivers are the foundation of our service quality. Each team member undergoes comprehensive screening including background checks, reference verification, and skills assessment before joining Our House.
Beyond credentials, we hire for character. Caregiving requires patience, reliability, and genuine compassion—qualities that cannot be trained. We select caregivers who demonstrate these traits and provide ongoing support to help them succeed.
Caregiver retention matters. High turnover disrupts client relationships and compromises care quality. We invest in our team through competitive compensation, consistent scheduling, and a supportive work environment that makes Our House a place caregivers want to stay.
